Abstract:
The Magushan-Qiaomaishan area in the city of Xuancheng is important part of the metallogenic belt in the middle and lower Yangtze region, which, in recent years, has been discovered to host the porphyry Cu-Au deposit in Chating, the stratabound skarn Cu-S-W polymetallic deposit in the east of Qiaomaishan, and the hydrothermal filling Zn-S deposit in Weidun. This paper summarizes the metallogenic principles and ore-controlling factors of the copper polymetallic deposits in the area by analyzing the results of the geological surveys in recent years and, the regional geological background and the geological characteristics of the copper polymetallic deposits. It can be concluded that the main ore-controlling strata are the Carboniferous Huanglong and Chuanshan Formations; the main ore-controlling structure is the inverted wing of the secondary inverted anticline and the interfaces between the Devonian Wutong Formation and the Carboniferous Huanglong and Chuanshan Formations; and the main metallogenic magmatic rock is the late Yanshanian granodiorite-porphyry(Gdp). This study has provided the direction for the future exploration in the area.
