Abstract:
The Chating copper-gold deposit is the first large-scale deposit porphyry copper-gold deposit discovered in Xuancheng, southeastern Anhui Province. Large-sized cryptoexplosive breccia, which is closely related to copper-gold deposit formation, occurs over the metallogenic rock bodies. Recently, a large amount of breccia of such kind was also found in the southern Xuejiacun area in the west of the western Chating mine area. Based on field geological investigation, comprehensive analysis and geophysical characteristics, it is proven that the composition, alteration and mineralization, and mineral combination of cryptoexplosion breccia are similar to those in the Chating mine area. In addition, the Xuejiacun area has low resistivity of CSAMT, high chargeability of induced polarization, medium geomagnetic and high gravity, all of which are similar to those in the Chating mine area. Moreover, the western Chating mine area is covered by Triassic formation. These findings suggest that this area may probably experience multiple cryptoexplosion, which has a certain significance to guide further ore prospecting outside the Chating mine area.
