Abstract:
Various sizes of red-bed basins were developed in Ganzhou area during the Cretaceous, which has a dense population nowadays. In recent years, the drought of continental red-bed basins become continuously serious, with the fast progress of urbanization, residents’ demand for groundwater is increasing. This paper studied the groundwater occurrence characteristics and water-rich regularities of the red beds in Yudu of Ganzhou City by the methods such as field geological survey, geophysical exploration, hydrogeological drilling, etc. The results show that the groundwater in red-bed basins of Ganzhou mainly storage and enrich in the structural fracture zone, concealed fractures, stratum contact zone and interlaminar fractures. It is concluded that the groundwater in red-bed basins is mainly controlled by structure, hence, the exploration and evaluation of the groundwater shall base on the tectonic deformation characteristics of red-bed basins, and the developed parts of syncline, monoclinic, basin edge and fractures are effective reservoir area of groundwater.
