Abstract
The Hejiachong area in Lujiang County of Anhui Province is located in the north-central Mesozoic Lujiang-Zongyang volcanic basin. Several copper deposits have been found in the surroundings with favorable metallogenic conditions. The ore-forming conditions and prospecting direction of copper deposits are discussed through the 1:10 000 geological mapping, magnetic survey and soil geochemical survey in Hejiachong area. The results show that there are 5 magnetic anomalies and 3 geochemical anomalies with several newly-discovered vein copper mineralized bodies on the surface. By analyzing the geological, geophysical and geochemical informations of the area comprehensively, and collecting the previous drilling data, it is considered that the area is formed in the second stage of metallogenic age of vein copper deposit in Lujiang-Zongyang basin, namely the Shuangmiao Cycle and middle-late stage of Fushan Cycle, with the potential of forming hydrothermal vein type copper deposit. Two prospecting targets of B1 and B2 are delineated, which provides basis for the further prospecting in the area.
