Analysis on the correlation between location advantage and regional economy in Fujian Province

To evaluate the interaction between location advantage and regional economic development scientifically, multi-dimensional evaluation system such as traffic artery, transportation hub, central city and transportation network are built to comprehensively evaluate the characteristics of location advantage of Fujian Province. Combined with the economic indexes of per capita GDP level and per capita fiscal revenue, the correlation between location advantage and regional economy are further analyzed. The results show that there are obvious regional differences of location advantage in Fujian Province, generally, with the location advantage relatively high in the eastern coastal areas and low in the western region, high in the prefecture-level municipal districts of inland areas and gradually decreasing in the area that extending outward with the prefecture-level municipal district as the center. The regional economy development in Fujian varies greatly, showing the trend of “high south low north, high east low west” on the whole. The location advantage is positively correlated with economic development level of Fujian Province.
