Abstract
Mesozoic volcanic areas of Eastern China is endowed with abundant and various geo-heritage resources, and it is also the most densely populated area with numerous towns and villages, convenient transportation, complete industry structures and developed economy. As demonstration plots, these places are pioneering in utilizing geological relic resources to boost economic growth and support rural revitalization. The authors transformed Qixi Village in Datian County, Fujian Province into a volcanically-featured cultural village by means of comprehensive survey and integrated analysis in combination of the geo-heritage resources and social-humanistic resources. Based on the practice experience of Qixi geo-cultural village, the problems such as limited landscape resources and poor bearing capacity in single village are identified and concluded. To address that, comprehensive solutions are proposed in this paper. It is assumed that a feasible and sustainable developing pathway for geo-cultural villages should promote the whole area by drawing upon the experience gained on key points, fully play an interconnected role of adjacent villages and make the industry toward perfection.
